Kidney stones are in formed as a crystal. These stones are composed of urinary chemicals such as uric acid, phosphorous, calcium and oxalic acid. This naturally occurs inside the kidney along with the other kidney processes. But sometimes though these kidney stones become larger than the usual and when eliminated out from the body it becomes very painful. This causes the person having large kidney stones to experience discomfort especially during the process of urination. Blood may even come out because the urethra is forced to expand for the larger kidney stones to come out.
